Anthropic makes Claude Sonnet 5.5 available across its platforms and major clouds

Anthropic logo Image: Primary
Anthropic says Claude Sonnet 5.5 is now available through its own platforms, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. The company prices it at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, matching Sonnet 5, but says it generates output more than 30% faster and costs up to 30% less per task in its testing. Anthropic positions the model for coding and everyday work. It says higher-risk cybersecurity requests will fall back to Sonnet 5 under new safeguards, while routine software development remains available. The company says Opus 5.5 still performs better on complex, open-ended work requiring sustained judgment.
