# AWS adds node scaling logs to Parallel Computing Service

AWS has added scaling logs to Parallel Computing Service, letting cluster operators inspect individual compute-node launches, registrations, shutdowns and launch failures. Each entry records one node's state transition, including a failure reason when a launch fails.

The logs can help operators determine why a group missed its target size or which launches failed because capacity was unavailable. Delivery is optional and can target CloudWatch Logs, S3 or Data Firehose. AWS says the feature is available in every region supporting the service, which manages high-performance computing workloads using Slurm.
