arXiv caps researchers at two paper submissions per month

The preprint server arXiv has introduced a limit of two papers per month for each submitting researcher to curb a flood of submissions, many generated by artificial intelligence, Nature reported. Scientific director Steinn Sigurðsson said the measure aims to prevent volunteer moderators from being overwhelmed. Some researchers support the cap, while others argue that it fails to address the underlying problem. Natalie Khalil, founder of AI-assisted peer-review platform Reviewer3, warned that AI-generated submissions would move elsewhere.
