Amazon says it used an AI quality evaluation system to adjust the visibility of low-quality A+ Content in a worldwide production experiment, producing a statistically meaningful improvement in Ordered Product Sales.

The system evaluates complete product-page snapshots, combining a vision-language model's assessments with text readability measurements in a classifier trained on expert labels. Amazon reports 0.94 accuracy and a 0.95 F1 score on a holdout set drawn from 5,478 pages across 10 product categories. Only the classifier needs retraining, allowing CPU-only updates rather than foundation model fine-tuning.

The experiment establishes a use for the scores in marketplace visibility decisions, but Amazon gives no numerical sales improvement.
