Relativity Networks announced $22 million in SAFE-note funding for its hollow-core fiber business and said it secured a $40 million follow-on order from an unnamed hyperscaler. The company says hollow-core fiber transmits light through a vacuum center rather than glass and can carry data 30% faster than conventional fiber. Its chief executive said the technology could help link data centers across multiple campuses where power is available while preserving lower-latency operation.
