NetWasm reports that its C# compiler produced a 47,895-byte standalone WebAssembly component, including its runtime and garbage collector, against 53,635 bytes for Rust 1.95.0 using a size-oriented build profile. Both programs perform the same print-42 workload.

The compiler translates reachable .NET code directly into WebAssembly and includes only required runtime support. Its ordinary build incorporates optimization that would require manual component processing in the Rust comparison. NetWasm remains pre-1.0, with contracts subject to change; runtime reflection, managed threading and general file APIs fall outside its supported profile. The result establishes a workload-specific comparison, not a language-wide size ranking.
