BYD unveils 373-mile electric truck for European fleets

BYD unveiled the ETT 44, a heavy-duty electric tractor designed for European roads, at the IAA Transportation trade fair in Hanover. The company says the larger 651-kWh configuration can travel 600 kilometers on a charge and replenish its battery from 20% to 80% in 20 minutes using a 1.5-megawatt charger. The truck can carry a 44-tonne payload and is slated to enter production in China later this year. BYD also plans a European factory, but the source gives no opening date.
