# AI leaders sign voluntary pledge for external audits and board oversight

Leaders of Alphabet, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, SpaceXAI and Nvidia signed a frontier AI safety commitment with President Donald Trump, Tom's Hardware reported. The pledge calls for internal controls during model training and deployment, independent external assessments and oversight by an independent board committee.

The controls cover cybersecurity, biosecurity and chemical threats, including unintended access to technical systems. Internal teams would monitor whether controls work and address problems, while board committees would receive their reports and those of external evaluators. The pledge carries no legal or regulatory force.
