Humanoid robot startup Holiday Robotics announced on the 13th that it has attracted a total of 155 billion won worth of Series A investment. The company said the round is the largest investment in a domestic startup Series A and the largest single-round investment for a domestic humanoid company. Existing investors Stone Bridge Ventures, Atnum Investments, Intervest and Spring Camp participated. New investors include IMM Investment, SL Investment, KB Investment, Bon Angels Venture Partners, Premier Partners, Ulmus Investment, SJ Investment Partners, Dasung Ventures, Atinum Capital Partners and Goodwater Capital. The Korea Development Bank and the Industrial Bank of Korea also participated. Holiday Robotics is a physical AI company founded by CEO Song Ki-young, who previously started industrial AI vision company Sua Lab in 2013. The company operates manufacturing and business development organizations with about 50 researchers and engineers, including experts from MIT, Seoul National University, KAIST and Samsung Electronics. It is developing "FRIDAY," a humanoid robot optimized for manufacturing sites, and aims to commercialize it in the second half of this year. The company plans to establish a production system of 100 units per year in 2026 and expand capacity to 1,000 units annually in 2027. It is conducting closed proof-of-concept demonstrations with major domestic and foreign companies in automotive, semiconductor and logistics industries. Holiday Robotics plans to use the investment to upgrade its mass production system, expand its R&D workforce to more than 100 and build manufacturing infrastructure capable of producing more than 10,000 units per year. Song said the investment reflects market recognition that humanoids can create economic value in actual industrial sites and that the company will first successfully commercialize at manufacturing sites to prove practical utility.
