Thomson Reuters disclosed unauthorized access to C-Track court-case-management files associated with courts in at least 12 U.S. states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada.

The company said the access occurred in March, was discovered June 30, and may have exposed names, Social Security and driver's-license numbers, medical information, birth dates and health-insurance information. It said the incident occurred in its cloud environment, not affected courts' systems. C-Track remains operational, and Thomson Reuters said it added security measures and will offer affected people 12 months of credit monitoring and identity-theft protection.
