Recovered Flock camera data reveals on-device encryption key
Image: Primary A Flock Safety camera removed by hackers contained an encryption key that unlocked stored media, according to a joint WIRED and 404 Media investigation. Analysis of recovered files found software that explicitly detects people as well as vehicles, plates and bicycles. The camera logs covered about 21 days and recorded roughly 50,200 vehicles and 1.6 million images. Flock said it lacked sufficient detail to assess the claims and urged vulnerability reporting.
