Supabase announced it is acquiring Turso to build database infrastructure for AI agents. Turso's team will join Supabase, with co-founder Glauber Costa leading the agent infrastructure effort.

Supabase says Turso rebuilt SQLite in Rust and developed a cloud platform that lets one server manage millions of databases, loading them on demand and suspending them when idle. Supabase will continue building around Postgres, while Turso continues its SQLite work and operations. The companies plan a shared developer experience from smaller prototype workloads to production applications.
