Donald Trump appointed a Big Tech critic as chief of the Justice Department's antitrust division. The appointment was announced by the Trump administration. The move reflects a shift in DOJ leadership toward preferring settlements over litigation in antitrust cases involving major technology companies. This change in posture follows internal guidance from the associate attorney general that negotiated resolutions can deliver results more quickly than extended proceedings.
