Amadeus breach Image: Primary
Cathay Pacific said on October 30 that a breach at software provider Amadeus affected around 53,000 bookings, exposing booking references, passenger names and flight details in most cases. Additional personal information was compromised in a smaller subset of cases. The airline said the October 28 breach affected bookings from August 2023 to September, citing Amadeus data. Cathay said its own systems and operations were unaffected and there was no evidence that financial or payment information had been accessed. Amadeus said it was investigating a vulnerability in a travel booking display environment.
