# Thea Energy releases peer-reviewed Helios fusion plant design papers

Thea Energy says 16 peer-reviewed papers describing its Helios stellarator power-plant design have been published in a special issue of Fusion Engineering and Design. The company says the design uses software-controlled planar magnet coils, a continuous divertor system and sector-based maintenance. It projects roughly 400 MW of electric output, but describes Helios as a design and says its first large-scale integrated stellarator, Eos, will precede it. The company says it is targeting Helios operation in the 2030s.
