Oracle is trucking compressed natural gas to AI data centers that lack pipeline connections, The Next Web reports. Deliveries kept a site outside Salt Lake City moving for more than a year and are powering early work at an OpenAI campus in Shackelford County, Texas.

The approach compresses gas into trailers for road delivery and decompresses it at the destination. East Daley Analytics estimates that delivered gas costs roughly four times the price at a major hub after labor, equipment and truck fuel. Oracle is weighing the same approach at New Mexico's Project Jupiter, where the State Land Office twice refused pipeline rights-of-way and the start date slipped to February.
