Taiwanese companies plan to invest an additional $20 billion in the United States, Economy Minister Kung Ming-hsin said at SEMICON Taiwan, according to Reuters. The minister said the investments are planned by the companies rather than mandated by government. Taiwan's economic ministry had previously identified roughly 20 companies interested in about $35 billion of US investment, mainly in semiconductor and AI-server supply chains. The reported new commitment adds to that broader corporate investment pipeline.
