Anthropic is giving teachers free access to premium Claude features, details here
Image: Primary Anthropic announced Tuesday a new Claude for Teachers initiative that provides K-12 educators in the United States with free access to premium Claude AI features for one year. The company said the program includes access to Claude Cowork and Claude Code as well as a set of tailored teaching skills co-developed with Learning Commons. Anthropic said the skills were designed around tasks teachers identified as most important and were evaluated for rigor, pedagogical alignment and classroom usability. The company said the effort is specifically for individual educators and that it is working on a dedicated offering for schools and districts. Eligible teachers can apply by June 30, 2027. Anthropic also recently published a fluency guide for educators interested in using AI in the classroom. OpenAI launched a similar ChatGPT for Teachers program last November that remains active for eligible educators.
