TimeTeller plans broader insurer access to circadian rhythm test

TimeTeller plans broader insurer access to circadian rhythm test Image: Primary
TimeTeller and German insurer Techniker Krankenkasse are ready to expand their saliva-test partnership beyond a subset of cancer patients to more of the insurer's 12 million members, CEO Angela Relógio told TechCrunch. The existing arrangement reimburses eligible patients for a test designed to measure their circadian rhythm, the body's internal daily timing. The startup also accepts direct orders following demand from longevity clinics, which use individual timing data to advise on sleep, nutrition, light exposure and physical activity. Its consumer kit cannot determine when a patient should receive cancer treatment. Relógio said that requires calculations for each medicine in clinical studies.
