# Docker launches cloud sandboxes for coding agents

Docker has introduced Cloud Sandboxes, allowing developers to run coding agents on Docker-managed computers and move a local sandbox to the cloud. The company says a move copies the sandbox's files so an agent can continue working after its user's laptop disconnects.

Each sandbox runs in its own small virtual machine, with separate secrets and network rules. Developers can start one through Docker's command line tool or web console, and Docker charges for compute by the second. Sessions run for one hour by default and up to 24 hours. Access requires version 0.45.1 or later of Docker's sandbox tool and a pay-as-you-go plan.
