# ShinyHunters claims theft of FBI personnel and applicant data

Cybercrime group ShinyHunters claims it breached FBI systems and stole terabytes of information about agents and job applicants. TechCrunch reported that 404 Media verified part of a sample containing agents' and spouses' names, home addresses and phone numbers against public records.

The attackers reportedly entered through an Oracle PeopleSoft human-resources server and then reached an Amazon-hosted government cloud. FBI job portals were unavailable, but the FBI had not confirmed the intrusion. The group is demanding removal of an FBI report and has not said what it will do with the data.
