# Snowflake introduces private preview model for structured decisions in SQL

Snowflake introduced Snowflake Decision in private preview through its Cortex AI Functions, giving customers a model for classification, scoring, filtering and routing within SQL workflows. Customers must request access through their Snowflake account team.

A single call can answer multiple bounded questions, returning categories, scores or yes/no probabilities under existing governance, access controls and audit policies. Snowflake says the model scored 57.63, the highest among 72 models in its evaluation of 29 Jev Decision Index 0.2.1 benchmarks. That evaluation covered a subset of the broader benchmark because interface limits prevented a full run. The model targets bounded decisions rather than open-ended or multistep reasoning.
