FCC seeks comment on waiver for unsolicited political calls to cellphones

The FCC advanced for public comment a Club for Growth request to waive consent requirements for political calls using artificial or prerecorded voices, including AI-generated voices, to cellphones. Reply comments close October 19. If granted, the waiver would still require an opt-out and limit calls to three per recipient within 30 days; some laws against deception and voter intimidation would continue to apply.
