Uber invests in Zipline for Uber Eats drone deliveries
Image: Primary Uber is investing in and partnering with Zipline to add drone delivery to Uber Eats, with the companies targeting first deliveries by the end of the year in Zipline's existing markets.
They said they aim to expand into dozens of U.S. cities and target one million drone deliveries a day by the end of 2029. The investment amount was not disclosed. Uber said it expects Zipline drones to fulfill Eats orders in five to 10 minutes, while the companies have not identified the initial markets.
