Judge Edward Davila expanded Apple's access to evidence in its trade secrets lawsuit against OpenAI, io Products and two former Apple employees, 9to5Mac reported. The order follows adoption of a narrower definition of the Apple information covered by discovery.

Apple can obtain records concerning former employees' use of AI tools and testimony about hardware development, recruitment and handling of confidential Apple information. Defendants have up to 14 days to produce records and answer questions.

Davila denied requests concerning OpenAI's own devices, accounts and internal investigations, along with two corporate testimony requests he found too broad for this stage.
