Anthropic plans to offer up to $3.5 billion in shares to Japanese investors as part of its proposed US stock market listing, according to a regulatory filing reported by Reuters on November 2. The filing sets the Japanese offering at as much as 552.9 billion yen.

The developer of Claude plans to use proceeds from the new shares for working capital, operating expenses and capital expenditure. The allocation would give Japanese investors access to the proposed listing as AI developers face growing computing infrastructure costs. The filing did not disclose the IPO's overall size or establish a definitive valuation.
