US Army regiment conducts live strike with drone assembled by soldiers

Ukrainian Attack Drone Battalion ‘Hornets Of Dovbush’ At Positions In Sumy Oblast Image: Primary
The US Army's 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Bavaria conducted a live drone strike using a system its soldiers assembled and armed, according to reporting cited by Tom's Hardware. The unit used an Orqa MRM2-10 drone fitted with an electronic safety and arming device and a 3D-printed munition casing. Company commander Capt. Michael Bapp said the strike took place without contractor or external unit support. He described it as a conventional Army first and potentially an Army-wide first. The Army is also training soldiers in 3D printing and drone piloting through its three-week Unmanned Advanced Lethality Course.
