# XMG raises laptop prices as it reports sixfold memory cost increase

The maker of XMG gaming laptops and Schenker workstations announced price increases for several models after saying DDR5 laptop memory prices had risen sixfold since July 2025. Most affected gaming laptops will cost $113 (€100) or $228 (€200) more, while one professional model will rise by $342 (€300).

The company also cited higher costs for storage, processors, graphics components, circuit boards and shipping. It expects memory to remain scarce through 2027 and beyond, though the article notes a competing view that component prices could begin falling in the latter half of 2027.
