# AWS expands X8i compute instances to Milan and Spain

AWS says its EC2 X8i instances are now available in the Europe (Milan) and Europe (Spain) regions. The instances use AWS-custom Intel Xeon 6 processors and are aimed at memory-intensive workloads including SAP HANA, large databases, analytics, electronic-design automation, and AI inference. AWS says X8i offers up to 6 TB of memory and is offered in 14 sizes, including two bare-metal options.
