The FBI and agencies in 6 other countries issued an October 8 advisory linking hackers tied to Integrity Technology Group to email theft and a web application giving third parties access to stolen messages. The agencies described targets across government, law enforcement, healthcare and religious institutions.

The hackers scan for vulnerabilities, try common passwords against Microsoft 365 and Exchange accounts, and use tools to copy mailboxes. The advisory adds intrusion and theft details to the earlier investigation that led to disruption of a company-linked botnet in September 2024.

The agencies urge defenders to inspect connected cloud applications, require multifactor authentication and patch affected systems. The advisory gives no dates for individual thefts, breach count or identities of the third parties.
