Transcripta Bio and Synfini say AI workflow produced Huntington's lead in weeks

Transcripta Bio and Synfini say their research collaboration produced a lead drug candidate targeting MSH3 in weeks. MSH3 helps drive the repeat expansion in DNA associated with Huntington's disease progression; slowing that expansion is a hypothesis for changing the disease's course. Transcripta identified starting compounds by comparing how diseases and drugs change gene expression. Synfini then generated and evaluated more than five million designs and sent selected candidates to robotic synthesis, integrating molecular design, production and testing. The companies compare their timeline with an approximately 12-18 month industry benchmark from hit identification to candidate nomination. Their reported result is a lead candidate, while Huntington's still has no approved treatment that halts, slows or reverses the disease.
