# Atlassian adds OAuth access and more Bitbucket actions for AI assistants

Atlassian says its latest MCP release lets developers connect Bitbucket Cloud to compatible AI assistants by signing in with their Atlassian account through OAuth. Bitbucket access previously required API tokens, which remain supported. MCP supplies a connection through which assistants can use development tools and information.

The release also expands assistant actions to managing pull request comments and reviewer updates, finding commits and locating related pull requests. OAuth support is available through the Atlassian MCP v2 endpoint. A Bitbucket Cloud workspace must be linked to an Atlassian organization, and existing Atlassian and Bitbucket permissions govern access.
