EPA proposal could remove public comment step for some data-center air permits

The change could cover data centers and would let states eliminate public notice and a 30-day comment period that federal rules currently require, according to the report. Attorneys general from 14 states and three cities oppose the proposal. The measure is proposed, not in effect, and could take effect within the next year.
