# Seltz raises $12.5M seed for AI agent web search

Seltz, a U.S.-incorporated startup founded last October that is developing web search technology for AI agents, has raised $12.5 million in seed funding.

Fortune reported the announcement on June 24, 2026. The funding round was led by Speedinvest and B Capital, with additional investment from the Italian Founders Fund, United Ventures and Future Back Ventures, the venture arm of Bain & Company. Seltz founder and CEO Antonio Mallia said the company is focused on delivering information in forms such as tables and images that can be used directly by large language models and agents.

The startup operates with a team of 15 people, six of whom are full-time employees, working remotely from locations including the San Francisco Bay Area, Pisa, Italy, and Leipzig, Germany. Its system crawls hundreds of millions of pages each day and returns results in under 200 milliseconds.

The company controls its entire search stack, including the web crawler, search index, retrieval models and ranking. Proceeds from the round will be used to continue developing the search stack, hiring and beginning enterprise sales efforts.
