Tinder held its inaugural product keynote on March 12 in Los Angeles. The event, called Tinder Sparks 2026: Start Something New, presented updates to the dating app in product, safety and artificial intelligence areas. The announcements are designed to create more opportunities for users to form real connections.

New global modes include a redesigned Music Mode that prioritizes profiles with shared music tastes and a new Astrology Mode that incorporates zodiac compatibility. Tinder also launched pilots for an Events feature in Los Angeles to discover local activities and for video speed dating events. These features allow users to connect both online and offline.

Safety enhancements feature expanded Face Check liveness verification and improvements to the Are You Sure? and Does This Bother You tools that are powered by large language models. The Are You Sure? feature now offers better alerts for potentially harmful language. The Does This Bother You tool adds auto blur for inappropriate messages.

Tinder is expanding its Chemistry artificial intelligence recommendations to the United States and Canada. New partnerships were announced with Duolingo and Beli in addition to the existing Spotify integration. Spencer Rascoff, chief executive of Match Group and Tinder, said the updates mark the most significant evolution of the app in years.
