Intrinsic joins Google to accelerate the future of physical AI

Google welcomed Intrinsic to its team as it works to advance physical AI for industrial applications. The integration brings Intrinsic's robotics technology under Google's umbrella to support businesses in manufacturing and logistics. Intrinsic develops AI-enabled systems that allow robots to perceive their environment, reason about changes, and react accordingly. Its Flowstate platform serves as a web-based development environment where users can create applications from simulation to real-world production using modular skills. These skills support tasks such as identifying parts for assembly, generating robot motion code, and handling delicate operations with force sensors. The approach reduces the time and expertise needed to deploy robotic solutions across different hardware configurations including robots, cameras, sensors, and AI models. Hiroshi Lockheimer, Chief Product Officer of the Other Bets, highlighted the opportunity to bridge the digital and physical worlds through intelligent robotics. He expressed excitement about the Intrinsic team joining Google to deliver breakthrough AI to more businesses and industries at scale.
