Infleqtion and Quantum Corridor conducted a live demonstration of a quantum timing solution that kept digital systems synchronized without GPS. The test ran across 21.8 kilometers of live urban fiber between the ORD10 Data Center at 350 Cermak in Chicago and the Digital Crossroad Data Center at 100 Digital Crossroad Drive in Hammond, Indiana.

The demonstration used Infleqtion's Tiqker, a rack mounted quantum optical atomic clock, on Quantum Corridor's in situ dark fiber. The system maintained picosecond level synchronization through normal network activity such as switching events and environmental changes. Results showed up to 40 times improvement over conventional GPS based timing and better performance than cesium beam clocks on short to medium timescales.

Pranav Gokhale, chief technology officer at Infleqtion, said that as digital infrastructure scales, relying on a single source of time is a growing risk and that the demonstration shows quantum grade timing can be delivered over existing fiber. Patrick Scully, chief product officer at Quantum Corridor, said the work shows the technology can be deployed over an existing quantum safe commercial network to unlock a new class of timing performance.

The demonstration follows Infleqtion's announcement of plans to go public through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp X.
