Romania's Conpet oil pipeline operator hit by cyberattack as Qilin claims 1TB breach
Image: Primary Romania's national oil pipeline operator Conpet confirmed that a cyberattack disrupted parts of its technology infrastructure and knocked its website offline. Oil transport operations were not affected. The company operates about 3,800 kilometers of pipelines supplying domestic and imported crude oil and petroleum products to refineries across Romania.
The operator said its operational technology systems, including supervisory control and data acquisition and telecommunications systems, remained fully functional. Conpet stated that the incident does not affect the operational activity, the stability of the company, or the ability of the entity to fulfill its contractual obligations.
