Intel will showcase AI inference running in live mobile networks at Mobile World Congress Barcelona. The demonstration shows how the company is helping the ecosystem rearchitect networks for greater efficiency as AI accelerates the transformation of mobile communications.

At the event Intel will highlight innovations across the core network, RAN, enterprise networks and enterprise edge. These advancements illustrate how operators and enterprises can scale next-generation infrastructure without the cost and complexity of rip-and-replace upgrades. The developments show how Intel is helping the industry evolve networks that are more flexible, performant and ready for future demands.

Building on decades of leadership in open standards and ecosystem collaboration, Intel supports 5G deployments at global scale by working closely with operators, cloud providers and technology partners. Through co-engineering and real-world deployments Intel helps simplify and standardize platforms so they can be deployed and scaled more efficiently across diverse environments.

As networks continue to modernize, AI inference will play an increasingly critical role running closer to the network edge to optimize traffic flows, mitigate congestion and improve signal quality in real time. For end users this translates to clearer calls, more reliable connectivity and smoother digital experiences. For operators increased automation and efficiency help reduce total cost of ownership while improving the return on investment.

MWC attendees are invited to join Intel experts for panels and discussions throughout the show and explore the solutions on display at the Intel booth on the Mobile World Congress exhibition floor. The event runs March 2-5, 2026, in Barcelona, with the Intel booth located in Hall 3, Stand 3E31.

Cristina Rodriguez, vice president and general manager of Intel's Network and Edge Group, will discuss how rising workload and connectivity demands are making low-latency performance essential. During the session she will underscore how Edge AI enables real-time intelligence for industries such as manufacturing, retail, telecom and critical infrastructure. She notes the accelerating shift toward processing data at the edge, with more than one-third of enterprise workloads expected to move from centralized data centers by 2028. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, from 4:15-5 p.m. CET at the Marconi Stage in Hall 6.
