OpenAI claims Yang-Mills existence proof as experts begin review

OpenAI Logo Image: Primary
OpenAI announced on October 26 that its internal AI models had produced proofs addressing problems in theoretical physics, mathematics and computer science, Tech Times reported. The company claims a proof that Yang-Mills theory exists mathematically, but it does not address the mass gap required to solve the full Millennium Prize Problem. A five-person review group led by David Gross is holding the physics materials while preparing its own account. OpenAI published its claimed local smoothing proof and its formalization in Lean, software that checks logical steps. None of the three results has been independently verified; Lean checking alone cannot establish that a formal statement faithfully represents the intended mathematical problem.
