FBI shuts down over 40 North Korean laptop farms in Texas

North Korean IT worker Image: Primary
The FBI shut down over 40 laptop farms in Texas and seized over 200 devices used to support fraudulent North Korean remote workers, The New York Times reported. CrowdStrike helped identify and disrupt the networks. U.S.-based facilitators host employer-issued laptops so workers abroad appear to be operating domestically. The scheme affects startups and Fortune 500 companies. Authorities moved before prosecutors filed charges, and no arrests have been made so far.
