Axiom Space announced the final close of its previously reported financing at more than 525 million dollars. The round was oversubscribed amid growing investor demand. New capital came from MUFG Bank Ltd as a new investor.

The financing included continued participation from existing backers. This positions the company to accelerate its programs in human spaceflight, spacesuits and Axiom Station. J.P. Morgan served as placement agent.

Dr. Jonathan Cirtain, chief executive and president of Axiom Space, said investor interest outpaced what the company set out to raise. Partners see the possibilities in low Earth orbit, he said.

Takumi Hashizume, managing director and head of the Space Innovation Office at MUFG Bank Ltd, said the investment supports companies that make commercial human space exploration sustainable. The bank sees Axiom Space leadership as central to that future, he said.

Mr. Gellert Jaszai, chairman and chief executive of the 4iG Group, said the partnership creates strategic synergies with the Hungarian Satellite program. The collaboration strengthens ties between Hungary and the United States, he said.

The investment supports continued development of Axiom Station and production of the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit under the NASA contract. It also advances the space infrastructure roadmap.

Axiom Space builds space infrastructure as the successor to the International Space Station. The company delivers technology solutions for the global space economy. It is the principal provider of commercial human spaceflight services and advanced spacesuits.
