# Zoox Introduces Next-Generation Robotaxi

Zoox has introduced the next evolution of its purpose-built robotaxi, CleanTechnica reported June 25, 2026. The company, which is backed by Amazon and currently operates in Las Vegas, said the updates aim for a more comfortable, intuitive experience as it prepares to welcome more riders. The changes draw from testing and feedback from half a million riders. Interior updates include a lighter color palette with monochrome aloe green seating and stone-grey flooring and trim. Rider-favorite features were refined with a more vivid touchscreen, fluting on the charging pad for stability and larger cupholders. Padding and ergonomic curves were added to the seats. Exterior changes include refined and relocated bidirectional reflectors for better visibility and an improved door interface with a new speaker, microphone and additional two-way audio capabilities. The vehicle is the production intent model. Zoox plans to move into large-scale production at its robotaxi serial production facility in Hayward, California. The robotaxis will join the fleet across markets and become available to riders later this year. The company has the capability to ramp production to a rate of 100 vehicles a week, subject to regulatory approval, the report said.
