Metrobloks announced plans to invest 1.4 billion dollars in Liberty, Missouri. The company will construct a high density data center campus spanning 568,800 square feet across three buildings.

Chief Executive Officer Ernest Popescu said the company is proud to expand in Liberty. He cited the ideal combination of infrastructure, talent and community partnership to support growth. Popescu said the investment reflects confidence in the Liberty area as a digital economy and innovation hub and will deliver long term value for customers and the community.

Liberty Mayor Greg Canuteson said the city is excited to partner with Metrobloks. He described the project as the most significant digital economy project in Liberty's history. Canuteson called it the first step in building a high tech foundation for the city's economy.

The project will generate increased tax revenues and at least 30 jobs with an average annual wage of 95,649 dollars. Hundreds of construction jobs will also be created.

Metrobloks said the Liberty campus will use the Kansas City region's central location, fiber network and reliable and cost effective power to provide low latency connectivity and infrastructure for digital demand. The data center features a low water use design and low impact operations. These features result in limited demands on schools, emergency services and municipal resources.
