WordPress.com announced Friday that it will allow AI agents to draft, edit, and publish content on customer websites. The agents can also manage comments, update and fix metadata, and organize content with tags and categories. These actions are handled through an interface that accepts natural language commands from the site owner. The company said customers can prepare drafts for an agent to publish or let the agent generate a post or page from a description. All changes require user approval. Posts created The new tools build on MCP support introduced last fall. That standard lets AI applications connect to a site for visibility into its content, settings, and analytics. Agents can now create posts, landing pages, and About pages while making structural changes. At launch, agents can approve, reply to, and clean up comments. They can create, rename, and restructure categories and tags. They can also fix alt text, captions, and titles to support SEO. Before generating content, an agent searches the site theme and design to match its colors, fonts, spacing, and block patterns. Customers enable the features at wordpress.com/mcp WordPress powers more than 43 percent of websites. The WordPress.com network records 20 billion page views and 409 million unique visitors each month.
