Agile Robots announced Tuesday that it has entered a strategic research partnership with Google DeepMind. The Munich, Germany-based company will integrate Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics foundation models into its robots and the data collected The companies will work together to test, fine-tune and deploy robots using the Gemini foundation models in industrial use cases. Sectors include electronics manufacturing, automotive, data centers and logistics. Zhaopeng Chen, co-founder and CEO of Agile Robots, said in a press release that the company has installed over 20,000 robotics solutions worldwide. He added that integrating Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics models into the company's robotic solutions positions it at the cutting edge of the market. A spokesperson said the deal is long term but declined to share further details about duration or pricing. Agile Robots was founded in 2018. It has raised more than $270 million in venture capital funding from investors including the SoftBank Vision Fund, Xiaomi and Midas Group.
