Acadia Healthcare Company, Inc. reported a data security incident that involved patient information. The company detected unusual activity in a user's email account on March 25, 2026. A review identified files containing patient information including names, addresses, dates of birth, treatment information, dates of treatment, type of treatment and health insurance information. For some individuals the files also contained their Medicare Health Insurance Claim Number which may include their Social Security number.
Beginning on May 22, 2026 Acadia began notifying patients whose information was involved. The company established a toll-free incident response line at 888-500-5708. The line operates from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday excluding major U.S. holidays.
The company recommends that affected patients review any statements they receive from healthcare providers and health insurance plans. Patients should contact the provider or plan immediately if they see any services that were not received. Acadia said it is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of the information it maintains and has implemented additional safeguards to further protect its systems.
