Amber Semiconductor announced the initial closing of its $30 million Series C financing round from new and existing investors. The fabless semiconductor company focuses on power management for AI data centers. The company will use the funds to scale product development, expand customer engagements, and accelerate commercialization of its vertical power delivery solutions. Amber's PowerTile technology places components on the backside of server boards. Power flows through a vertical path to the processor. This design reduces power distribution losses Thar Casey, founder and chief executive officer of Amber Semiconductor, said the financing marks an important milestone as the company executes on its vision of transforming power delivery for AI. The announcement follows the successful tape-out of the PowerTile solution completed in January. The company plans to begin shipping to major customers in the third quarter of 2026. Amber will chair an industry session titled "Vertical Power for AI Data Centers" at the Applied Power Electronics Conference in March. Representatives from AMD, Nvidia, and Global Foundries will present alongside the company. The session will cover emerging trends, system-level innovations, and the role of vertical power architectures in AI infrastructure.
