Vietnam AI Law takes effect mandating AI content labeling
The 2025 Law on Artificial Intelligence, No. 134/2025/QH15, took effect from March 1st, 2026. It sets transparency requirements
Clause 4, Article 11 of the law affirms that when generating or editing audio, images, or video using an artificial intelligence system to simulate or impersonate the appearance or voice of real persons or recreate actual events, the content must be labelled for easy recognition to distinguish from real content. For products that are cinematographic, artistic, or creative works, the labelling shall be performed in an appropriate manner, ensuring no obstruction to the display, performance, or enjoyment of the work.
Deployers must ensure that AI-generated audio, image, and video is marked in a machine-readable format as prescribed
