GCT Semiconductor Holding Inc. and Skylo Technologies Inc. announced a partnership. The collaboration aims to advance next-generation satellite connectivity. GCT is a designer and supplier of advanced 5G and 4G semiconductor solutions, while Skylo is a global Non-Terrestrial Network provider spanning 36 countries across 70 million square kilometers of coverage.

The companies will jointly pursue chip and module certification. This work will enable a new class of multi-use devices. The devices will allow customers ubiquitous connectivity by connecting to Skylo's network when terrestrial connectivity is out of reach.

John Schlaefer, CEO of GCT, said the partnership marks another significant step in the company's commitment to powering the expanding 5G to space ecosystem. He said the company is excited to deepen its collaboration with Skylo. The goal is to help accelerate the next generation of global satellite connectivity for customers and device-makers worldwide.

Integrating GCT's 3GPP compliant silicon with Skylo's satellite network eliminates traditional boundaries of cellular coverage.
